This is how a classroom should be, If we can’t give them that, let’s not do it at all.
Schools are re-opening!
This has been a subject discussed not only by the superiors but also by a lot of concerned parents as well. The pressure is on for the school to re-open.
In many states that decision is already in place easing the mind of most teachers and parents. I am the mother of a third-grade teacher, and I have to admit that the fact that she might have to go back to an environment that might expose her to coronavirus was heartbreaking.
I clearly understand that how this decision will affect a large number of families that went to work while their littles one went to school, and and with that offer no longer on the table, things may get really tough.
Before I offered my opinion in this articles I took the time to speak with a number of parents with different scenarios.
A lot of families are now facing to raise this kids completely on their own, babysitters can no longer go from families to families to accommodate their needs. Grandparents are facing the isolation due to been put on the high risk categories. And if you job requires to a remote office then the situation is scaled to 100.
With bills to pay, groceries to buy, not even taken into consideration the parents or kids that have a need for medication. The situation is frustrating, but with all that been said, every parent still is thankful that they still have their health. Like one mom said,” We may eat a lot of roman noodles, but at least we are able to eat”. Another Mom with trembling voice was brave enough to express the fear of having no kids to feed”
Classes online in one way.
Yes, the kids need their education, but with all honesty, they need to be alive in order to get that education. And if all possible online schools are definitely the safest way.
It one thing for our leaders to decide to send everyone to the battle field with coronavirus only problem is that no one is equipped for this fight. it is hard enough to get adults to follow the rules, can you images with kids running everywhere, touching everything! this is not a fault of their own, they are just doing what kids do.
Can every inch of this playground be sanitized?
As some states have already decided to avoid spreading this virus. People in high places. appears to be heavy pressure from President Trump, the leaders for Disease Control and Prevention has as they say “revised the guidelines”, saying it will be “safe in communities with low SARS-CoV-2 transmission rates. In many states, the description in compliance simply put it does not fit. No matter what the CDC says, moreover, districts moving to in-person classes will face severe challenges, teachers are concerned, and even pushback from parents is at full force.
It is one thing to send our kids, yes teachers are kids as well, into to the world of contamination when the big guys “decision makers” are in their safe nest.
While the decision to reopen them may look to us like a complicated trade-off between the epidemiological risks of reopening and the socioeconomic costs of staying closed, for the people making those decisions, the stakes are even more perplexing. Teachers wonder, “How can I possibly avoid catching covid-19 in a classroom full of natural anarchists whose personal hygiene skills are still evolving?” Administrators puzzle over a related query: “What happens if a child dies?” I personally wrote many letters to the Governor of the most affected states. If my child dies from been sent back just in order for a contract with the government in the middle of a pandemic I will not be silenced. I have yet to see a parent that will not fight for their kids safety.
The push back to re-open the school is without a doubt an economic one, we are already dealing with one the biggest disaster that our economy has ever seen, so let’s stand together and fight back to keep our children safe, the last thing that we need is another tragedy in the house hold families.
Talking to those parents, I often find that they are buying themselves a kind of regret insurance. If they do everything the other parents do, and something happens to their child, they will still feel unimaginably awful. But they won’t have the added pain of feeling it happened because they were irresponsible.
If reopening the economy to soon had it’s set back , can you imagine opening the school. No one will succeed to be in a controlled environment and till feel free as every kids and their educators should.
So as you can see I am a concerned mother and I intend on speaking out where the safety of my kid is concerned, she is a 4th-grade teacher.
